Second Saturday Projects
Relevant is called to serve and love our community – it’s part of our DNA. One of our favorite service opportunities happens on the second Saturday of every month. We creatively call it, “Second Saturday” and believe in the importance of serving NOW! We focus on:
-Meeting Needs in our community.
-Serving Orphans (Foster Kids) in our community.
-Assisting Widows in our community.
These service projects take a wide variety of forms throughout the year and include assisting with school clean-ups, home rehab/beautification, partnering with other local organizations, and building bunk beds for local children in need.
F.I.T. Ministry serves 2 times a month, normally on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Our goal is to meet the needs of those that find themselves without a home here in Ybor. From toiletries to sandwiches, and even home-cooked meals, we strive to deliver smiles, encouragement, and share the love of Jesus in our community.
Relevant partners with two local elementary schools throughout the year. We have been partnering with Booker T. Washington Elementary since 2010 and Broward Elementary since 2014. Through these partnerships, God provides us with many opportunities to demonstrate His love to our community in a tangible way. Each Fall we ensure that the students get a great start by providing backpacks loaded with school supplies to every student at both schools. In addition, we have opportunities to serve as tutors/mentors in the classroom, providing assistance to both students and teachers throughout the year. Our partnership with BT Washington and Broward extends beyond classroom helping with campus cleanups, assisting families, and even delivering bunk beds to students in need. We even have the pleasure of hosting the annual BTW Christmas program at our facility. Finally, we serve as an extension of the PTA by providing resources and volunteers to support special events throughout the school year. It is through these partnerships that God has allowed us to not only impact many students but the larger community as well. If you would like to serve as a tutor/mentor, please click the button below
