LOCAL MISSIONS:

We believe love is best shown in action. Our heart is to serve our city through outreach that brings hope, healing, and the message of Jesus. From Serve Saturdays and Water Bottle Outreach to F.I.T. Ministry (Friends in Transition) and school partnerships, each effort is a chance to share the Gospel message of Jesus in a practical way. When you serve, you’re joining a movement that transforms lives for eternity including your own.

  • At Relevant, serving and loving our community is woven into our very DNA. One of our favorite service opportunities takes place once a quarter, an event we creatively call “Serve Saturday.” We firmly believe in the importance of serving NOW! Our focus areas include:

    • Meeting the needs of our community.

    • Supporting orphans and foster children.

    • Assisting widows in our community.

    Throughout the year, these service projects take various forms, ranging from school clean-ups and home rehabilitation to partnering with local organizations. We even build bunk beds for children in need, ensuring they have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. As we serve, we also prioritize sharing the Gospel, taking the time to connect with those we help and offering hope through the message of Jesus Christ. Each project is an opportunity not only to make a meaningful impact but also to strengthen our community bonds and share the love of Christ with others.

  •  When the city is alive, we want to be there—sharing living water. On several Friday nights throughout the year from 10:45 PM to 1:00 AM in Ybor, we hit the streets with water bottles, prayer, and encouragement. It’s more than hydration—it’s an encounter with God’s love. Come stand with us as we bring hope to the heart of the city and remind people that Jesus sees them, loves them, and meets them right where they are.

  • Stands for Friends in Transition—plays a vital role in our outreach efforts by serving our community twice a month, typically on the 2nd Saturday. Our mission is to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Ybor City by meeting their immediate needs. We provide essential items such as toiletries, sandwiches, and even home-cooked meals, all with the aim of delivering not just physical sustenance but also smiles and encouragement. In addition to these tangible resources, we actively share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, offering hope and spiritual support to those we serve. By fostering conversations about faith and the love of Jesus, we hope to uplift those facing challenging circumstances and inspire them to find hope and healing through Him.

  • Relevant partners with two local elementary schools: Booker T. Washington Elementary since 2010 and Broward Elementary since 2014. Through these partnerships, we have many opportunities to demonstrate God's love in tangible ways. Each fall, we kick off the school year by providing every student at both schools with backpacks filled with school supplies. Additionally, we offer tutoring and mentoring support in the classroom and assist with campus clean-ups, family support, and delivering bunk beds to students in need. We also host the annual BTW Christmas program at our facility and serve as an extension of the PTA by providing resources and volunteers for special events. Through these partnerships, God enables us to impact not only students but also the larger community.

Global MISSIONS:

Relevant extends its LC3 mission internationally through impactful mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Since 2015, we have built a strong foundation for this outreach, allowing us to deepen our commitment to serving communities in need. We continue to partner with SCORE International, sending dedicated teams to work alongside local missionaries throughout the year.

These mission trips offer our volunteers the opportunity to engage in various service projects, including community development, education, and outreach programs. By collaborating with local leaders, we strive to make a lasting difference while sharing the Gospel and the love of Jesus with those we encounter. Each trip not only transforms the lives of those we serve but also enriches the spiritual growth of our team members as they witness the impact of their service firsthand. Together, we are committed to fostering hope, faith, and change in the Dominican Republic, embodying our mission of love and service on a global scale.

At Relevant, we believe God’s love knows no boundaries. Since 2015, we’ve partnered with SCORE International in the Dominican Republic, building bunk beds, supporting community projects, and sharing the Gospel. Over the past 11 years, we’ve served over 600 families, strengthening both the communities we serve and the hearts of those who serve.

Lives Changed

What began as a trip to build beds became an opportunity to witness God changing lives through simple obedience and a willingness to serve.

“I didn’t expect God to use me to speak His words in a way that I could share His gospel and 3 people would come to know Him as their personal Savior.”

For Jim Jackson, missions have become an important part of his faith journey. Having participated in every Dominican Republic trip Relevant has taken, his most recent trip in March 2026 became one he'll never forget.

Hope delivered

One single mother in the Dominican Republic shared after receiving a bunk bed: “I can’t remember how long I have needed a bed, my 4 kids and I have slept together for many years.”

For many of us, a bed is something we rarely think twice about. But for families like hers, it represents comfort, dignity, and a safe place to rest. Through the simple gift of a bunk bed, families experience the tangible love of God in a practical way.

Every bed built tells a story of God's provision and the Church being His hands and feet to a world in need.
